Interested in attending our annual Health Expo but want to know what it is? Here is a video of one we did in 2019. A Health Expo, as organized by your Seventh-day Adventist Church, helps you understand how appalling 8 simple laws and habits can improve your global health. There are no great surprises here as those laws are just common sense. But through some fun activities you will see if you are in good health or if you need to improve on one or more of the habits. Health professionals are also on site to help you understand what is needed in your case. The 8 laws (habits) for a good healthy life are:
1- Sunshine (make sure you see the sun often)
2- Nutrition (health goes through good healthy food)
3- Air (breathing good air is essential)
4- Water (drink and use water often)
5- Exercise (move that body!)
6- Rest (don’t exhaust yourself, your body and mind need regular rest)
7- Temperance (indulge in good things but shy away from unhealthy habits)
8- Trust (having faith and trusting helps much too)

It was great to be out as a church at Richies Wharf in Miramichi to distribute balloons and Mr Freezes to kids (young and old!). This was part our our Launch Weekend Mission-Driven-Church project and also was part of an effort to let the population know about the Seventh-day Adventist church in their city. We were wearing T-shirts with our logo and distributing literature to those interested. Some even asked to get the pastor’s business card to get in touch!
The fun part was really to see the kids flock with their parents to get a balloon. And as soon as they saw that we were giving Mr Freeze too, oh my, that was not an occasion for them to miss! And when some of them saw that they could even have seconds… !
The Miramichi church has given itself the mission this year (2019) to get out more and let people know who we are. This “out in the park” event was also an occasion to share about two main activities that will come in the Fall (2019): a Health Expo and the Jesus & Revelation seminar. We had prepared a card advertising the two event and on the back included a recipe for some good vegetarian food (you have the picture here and the recipe is in the pdf file for you to download – just click on the link).Miramichi_2019_Publicity_p2
We had a great time as a church going out and we want to share some of our joy with you through some pictures. Enjoy and come visit us.
May 15 2019, the “Hard Core” members of the church teamed up to clean up part of the road in Miramichi near our church. By a windy, cold, rainy night the “braves” went out wearing their suits for what proved to be some good garbage “reaping”. Close to 10 full bags of trash were collected in this social action to help the City of Miramichi clean up from the many months of winter and – lets have the courage to say it – the bad habits of some drivers.
Young and old had fun fighting the wind with their plastic bags as they picked up the “treasures” left by the side of the road. No real treasures, though; just a lot of flattened pop cans and red coloured coffee cups.
